Exchanging Routes over BGP with CENIC

The preferred routing protocol between associate and affilliate sites and the CalREN backbone is BGP. As an alternative, static routes can be used. CENIC does not do IGP routing to any associate or affilliate site. CENIC strongly prefers to make use of md5 authentication on BGP sessions.

Please check out the BGP Routing Protocol section of the CalREN Backbone FAQs for more information pertaining to BGP.
